The Solution
Bristlecone enabled Sun Microsystems to port
specific components of SAP to Sun Microsystems
platforms, and integrate Sun ONE™ middleware
products with SAP products. We built adapters
and connectors between Sun and SAP products
and conducted performance tuning and optimization
exercises. We also built provisioning services
on Sun Blade servers to provide scalability
of SAP software.
Additionally, we undertook end-to-end efforts
on certifying ISV Solutions on Sun Microsystems
platform by providing following services:
> Understanding
the individual architecture of various ISV
applications
to conduct performance and sizing analysis
> Tuning
ISV applications to identify optimal configurations
for operating
systems, databases and other infrastructure
components
> Publishing
sizing guides for each ISV application to
enable customers
identify and acquire platform configurations
> Conducting
benchmark analysis to highlight capabilities
of the platform
Business Impact
Sun was able to provide more solution offerings
to its customers, as well as provide reliable,
high-performance platforms and components
for enterprise solutions from SAP. Sun also
implemented certified ISV Solution offerings
with configuration recommendations that could
potentially increase platform revenues and
bring about a high degree of customer satisfaction.
